Details Matter
I have been called a perfectionist in the past and I own that with all the positive and negative attributes.
However last week I again sited another example where attention to detail really makes a difference! The detail was a detail, 1 tenth of an inch detail. What could be that particular in my line of work you may wonder. I do not manufacturer products but I do sell specialty products to consumers. Particularly electronic parts for smartphones and computers. Last week we launched our retail store in my hometown to increase exposure to the community. A great emphasis it put on the extras, screen protectors and cases in addition to the ever expanding repair service. So what did 1 tenth of and inch have to do with this?
Screen protectors which are my favorite product to sell outside of repair service are a big seller. And after having a great issue sourcing one popular manufacturers flagship tempered glass screen protector I was delighted to be able to carry it in the new retail space. However the first customer that came along to purchase one was greatly dissatisfied by the fact the product did not cover her whole screen. Appalling I know... but these things happen the fortunate issue is for me I had not ordered 1000s of dollars worth of items like I am sure my Vendor has at this point. 1 tenth of an inch! Details matter. At this moment I have not resolved my issue as I am going to request a refund for the product. What details matter in your world? What tiny mistake could could cause a huge fallout like this?
Look out for the details!
