Positions
I have only been a father less than 8 months now and it amazes me the types of positions that my son has already put me in. Though I can only imagine what will come in the future the following is what has already become a reality.
1. Raging Lunatic
This really isn't his fault but happened because of him. During my wife's 3 day labor I turned into a raging lunatic because of my own expectations of the hospital and even going so far as to call the Dr's Emergency line to get a hold of my Dr. during the labor. It was an incredibly stressful time and I don't regret being crazy because it is what you do. However I will hopefully be calmer if this comes around again.
2. Stereo Typical Parent on Social Media
Go check out my facebook, or my instagram there are hundreds of pictures and videos of my Baby. And why do I do this? It is because my Baby is cute and everyone has to see that! Though I was the person who was just incredibly annoyed by your babies pictures all over my feed just a year ago, now I look at everyone's babies on facebook and find myself enjoying it all the more. And I don't look at your babies photos to see how cute they are, I am really comparing them to mine and thinking mines cuter because (insert whatever).
3. Responsibility
Not that I wasn't responsible before this time. I paid my rent held down a job and much more adult traits were true in me. However now that I am a Dad all of a sudden I am responsible for a small child's mistakes. No doubt I celebrate my Son's exploration of the world but he has already started to cost me $$ and anxiety due to his curiosity. This past week because of his curiosity and the fact he is surrounded by electronics he reached and knocked an Iphone on hard tile and broke it. The real issue being it was not my phone but rather a lady from my churches phone. Thus the position of the phone repair guy's son broke someones phone.... Responsibility, it is a whole new world as a Dad.
I love my son he is the best kid I know, he's also the best looking baby! (If you not convinced you can check out my photos on Facebook). However the positions I am put in is a whole new world.
